Winter Weather Schedule Changes

*Updated Jan 9th at 5:00pm*

Spartanburg County School District Six willbe closed on Tuesday, January 10th.  The National Weather Service has issued ablack ice advisory until noon tomorrow. Although many of the main roads in thedistrict are clear…the roads in the northern end of the district are not safeto transport children. Our drivers attempted driving the routes today and manywere still covered in ice. We are also concerned about the safety of teenagerswho drive to Dorman each day.  We wouldrather utilize the built in snow days on February 20th and March 17th,than to take a chance with a child’s life. We have put a lot of thought intomaking this decision and do hope that our community understands. Safety first.

*Updated Jan 8th at 3:35pm*

Spartanburg County School District Six will be closed on Monday, January 9th. Our crews have been checking roads throughout the day and many areas in the northern part of the county are still impassable and may be unsafe to transport students. Icy roads are a major concern with temperatures still below freezing mark. Safety is always our number one priority. Thank you for understanding.

The Wade Hampton at Dorman varsity basketball games that were scheduled for tonight have been canceled. No make-up date or plans have been made at this time.

The Middle School Basketball and Cheer Recognition has been postponed until Friday, January 27 when Dorman plays Byrnes.

The opening week of games in the Dorman Developmental Basketball League that were scheduled to be played this Saturday (January 7) morning are being postponed due to the winter weather watch that has been issued for our area on Friday night and Saturday. The games that were scheduled for Saturday will be made up on Monday evening, February 6.

We will add to this post as more information comes in.
